Hypericum perforatum: Grows in open forests, hedgerows, and grasslands in the dry sun, usually on calcareous soils (Plants For A Future, n.d.-g). They can be found in Europe, south, and east to northern Africa, the Azores, Madeira, and western Asia. Hypericum is a perennial plant that grows to 0.9 meters (3 feet) by 0.6 meters (2 feet). It is valued for treating sunburn and as a cosmetic preparation for the skin.
