Couch Grass (Elymus Repens): A typical garden, field, hedge, and grassland weed that grows throughout much of Europe, including Britain, northern Africa, Siberia, and northern America (Plants For A Future, n.d.-f). It is a perennial that grows from 0.6 m (2 ft) to 1 m (3 ft 3 in). The roots are antiphlogistic, aperient, demulcent, emollient, lithotriptic, and tonic.
Beneficial effects: It has been used as an anti-inflammatory agent and tonic.
