After the co-founder, Selmin, witnessed how people from small villages in the Mediterranean utilized olive oil and other plant extracts to create various products, she wanted to keep the traditions alive whilst paying homage to the land she returned to every summer when growing up.
The research on this may be limited but it has been widely known, even by experts, that olive oil is a good hair care ingredient. Not only does it contain anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce inflammation in the scalp but the emollients this oil contains can add moisture, shine, and softness to the hair.
So here are some recipes you can easily make at home to nourish, treat, and give your hair its spa moment! Feel free to adjust the ingredient measurements depending on preference and hair type.
Avocado & Olive Oil for Split Ends
In a 2015 study, it was discovered the magnesium and potassium found in avocados may help close hair cuticle cells, which can smooth, soften, and prevent breakage.
Using half of a ripe avocado and half a cup of olive oil, mix and mash the ingredients in a bowl. Apply to your ends and leave it between 30-45 minutes. Rinse afterwards.
Banana & Olive Oil for Restoration
Just like avocados, bananas are packed with vitamins and minerals, like potassium, that can rejuvenate dry, dull, and frizzy hair.
Blend together one ripe banana and one tablespoon of olive oil into a creamy, frothy consistency. Apply the mask to your hair and scalp and leave it on between 10-15 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
Tea Tree Oil & Olive Oil for Scalp Irritation + Balancing Sebum Production

Tea tree oil may be linked to less dandruff, according to a 2002 study, and has been a popular astringent in skin care products.
Mix 4-5 drops of tea tree essential oil into two tablespoons of olive oil. Apply to your scalp, leave it on for 30 minutes, and lastly rinse out.
